"A day to be thankful."

Instead of counting candles,
Or tallying the years,
Contemplate my blessings,
As my birthday reaches.

Consider special people
Who love me, and who care,
And others who’ve enriched my life
Just by being there.

Think about the memories
Passing years can never mar,
Experiences great and small
That have made me who I am.

Another year is a happy gift,
So I cut my cake, and say,
“Instead of counting birthdays,
I count my blessings every day!”
